SQL Database Grows Extremely Large

Introduction (Please Read):
This document will walk you through the steps needed to turn off the transaction logs in SQL. These transaction logs can cause your SQL database to grow extremely large and take up valuable hard drive space. Running SQL in Full Recovery Mode allows for complete back-ups to be taken of a database during changes, although the transaction logs can become large enough to take up an entire hard drive if left on long enough.

To Decrease the SQL database size and recover hard drive space.

Step 1 – Set SQL to run in Simple Recovery Mode

Step 2 – At the Realhound login screen, run a speed-up of the database to decrease database size dramatically.
